   Conclusions - Clinical Implication

   "We conclude that the Chin-Up Strip combined with Breathe

   Right nasal strip is an effective alternative treatment for the

primary snorer, as well as for mild OSA patients who are

not surgical candidates or cannot tolerate CPAP."

of (10) full night polysomnorgram sleep studies at Columbia Hospital.

B. Base Study indicates full night sleep study without Chin-Up Strip

or Breathe Right nasal strip.

February 18, 1998 sleep study on female that snored: H

1. Base study, she snored 62.9% of her total sleep time.

2. Chin-Up study, she snored only 22.4% of her sleep time.

3. Base study,  sleep efficiency rating of patient was 48.2%.

4. Chin/Study, sleep efficiency rating increased to 89.9%.


January 28, 98 sleep study on heavy female that snored: D

1. B/Study, snoring episodes 631; total time snoring 45%.

2. Chin/Study, snoring episodes 73;  total time snoring 4%.

3. RDI = (Respiratory Disturbance Index) for sleep apnea.

4. Base study,  RDI was 7.1 with 32 events;  
   
5. RDI was only 1.9 with only 7 events in Chin-Up Strip Study.


January 20, 98  sleep study on heavy male that snored:  P

1. B/Study, snoring episodes 300; total time snoring 69.4%.

2. Chin Study snoring episodes 102 total time snoring 17.2%.


November 21, 1997 sleep study on a male who snored: G

1. Base study, RDI was 11.4,  with total # of events at 69.

2. Chin-Up study, RDI was 0.7 with total # of events @ "3".

3. Sleeping on back, RDI down from 20.3 to 1.1 with Chin-Up.


4. Sleep arousal index dropped 43 to  "9"  in Chin-Up study.

5. Snoring arousals dropped 28 to  "0"  in Chin-Up study.


November 20, 1997 sleep lab study on male who snored : T

1. Base study snoring arousals 35,  Chin-Up study only "1".

2. RDI was 35 in base study,  with total events at 204.

3. RDI was 4.3 in Chin-Up study, with total events at only 24!

 

 

Thirty two (32) patients have been tested

with Chin-Up Strips and Breathe Right

nasal strips in hospital sleep lab studies.

Twenty three (23) were in 2004 in Cincinnati, OH.
